Four Reasons Why Industry Exclusive Groups are Bad for Your Business.

Four Reasons Why Industry Exclusive Groups are Bad for Your Business.

Many networking organizations allow only one business type, i.e. one insurance person, one business coach, etc.  Here’s why these groups can be bad for your business.

1) Less choice for you.  You are expected to do business with members of your group.  If you have only one choice for a specific need, how do you know you are doing business with the best?

2) Pressure to give business to other members of your group that you think, or feel, or know are not the best.  You are pressured to give leads or referrals (prospects or clients) to members of your group.  How does it make you feel when you do this and you know they are not the best.  This puts you in a position to compromise your integrity.

3) What is your “competition” doing?  How do you know?  They are not in your networking group.  Maybe other businesses like yours are on the cutting edge and you find out what is happening too late.

4) Less opportunity to synergize with similar businesses. Every person is unique; therefore how they do their business is unique.  Other people in businesses like yours have different expertise, talent, skills and most desired clients they want to work with.  Maybe you could work together synergistically to grow the overall market for both of your businesses.
