Networking Is Not Selling

Picture 18

If you have ever attended a Networking event, you will know that you should bring a ton of business cards and be ready to pass them out. Many people believe, however that they are trying to sell their product and or service right then and there when that’s not the case. Handing out your business cards, shaking hands and learning what other people do is all key because you want contacts and you want to be someone else’s contact, right?

Let’s for instance say that you own an auto parts store and someone that the Networking event is a mechanic. Would you two be able to do business? Possibly, but I bet your customers could also become the mechanics client.

The point of Networking is to get people the contacts they need and to make sure that their time is well spent.

Shouldn’t it always be like that?

What do you think?

Do you attend Networking events where people are flat out selling to you?
